FAQ

Working with Atlas

What does The Atlas Network do?

We are a full-service supply chain company. We manage your product end to end, from design engineering and factory selection to production, quality control, logistics, customs and delivery.

How is this different from sourcing on Alibaba or other online marketplaces?

Buying online puts the risk on you. Suppliers can be hard to verify, quality can drift between the sample and the shipment, and problems often appear only when goods arrive. We act as your team on the ground: we use certified factories, negotiate in person through our local team, and inspect the work with our own inspectors and independent third-party auditors.

Are you a broker or a trading company?

Neither. We act as a liaison and an intermediary of trust between you and the factory, but our work goes well beyond sourcing. Clients rely on us for consulting, supplier selection, product development and full supply chain management.

What size of business do you work with?

Most of our clients are entrepreneurs and small to mid-sized brands that don't have the time or the people to select and manage factories overseas themselves. We also support larger companies that want an experienced global team on the ground.

How experienced is the team?

We bring more than 20 years of sourcing and manufacturing experience and have served 1000+ clients worldwide. The Atlas Network was also the first US-based verified supplier on Alibaba.

FAQ

Factories and quality

How many factories do you work with?

Our vetted network includes more than 2,000 factories across a wide range of materials, including glass, ceramics, metal, wood, textiles, plastics and electronics. That lets us match each product with a manufacturer that already does that kind of work well.

How do you choose a factory?

Our global team shortlists certified factories that fit your product, volumes, quality requirements and budget. We check their capability and track record, compare quotes, and negotiate pricing, minimum order quantities and payment terms locally on your behalf.

Who checks quality?

Two teams. Our own QC inspectors check materials, production in progress and finished goods against your approved sample. Independent third-party audit teams then review the work as a second line of defence. You get a report with photos and measurements after every inspection.

Can you help design or develop my product?

Yes. Our global design engineering team can develop a product from a rough idea or refine an existing design for manufacturing, then produce samples and prototypes for your approval before production starts.

FAQ

Shipping and ownership

Do you hold inventory or take ownership of my goods?

No. The Atlas Network never holds inventory. You remain the consignee and owner of your goods at every stage, while we coordinate the factories, inspections, freight, customs and delivery.

How do you ship products?

We book sea, air or rail freight depending on your budget and deadline, prepare export documentation, coordinate customs clearance and arrange delivery to your warehouse, fulfilment centre or retail partner. Our team tracks every shipment from pickup to arrival.

Can you help with tariffs and duties?

Yes. We plan duties and documentation for every shipment, and our consulting team advises on tariffs, landed cost and sourcing options such as Southeast Asia or nearshoring when the rules change.

FAQ

Getting started

Where is your team based?

We are headquartered in New York, NY, and work through a global team that handles design engineering, factory selection, quality inspections and logistics tracking close to the factories we use.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

Minimums depend on the product and the factory. Part of our job is to find factories that suit your volumes and to negotiate MOQs that work for your business, from a first small batch to full-scale production.

How do I start a project?

Fill in the project form, email contact@theatlasnetwork.com or call +1 (212) 268-4947. A member of our team will review your requirements and come back with questions, a route to production and a quote.
